Raghavendra Rajkumar Biography

Raghavendra Rajkumar is a film actor and producer associated with Kannada film industry. He is the second son of the celebrated star of Kannada cinema – Rajkumar. Noted actors Shiva Rajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar are his brothers while actor Vinay Rajkumar is his son. One of his sisters is married to actor Ramkumar, son of Shringar Nagaraj – the producer of Pushpaka Vimana, who himself is an actor. Though he played lead hero role in many movies, since 2010 he completely switched on to film production. Shruthi Seridaaga (1987), Jackie (2010), Anna Bond (2012) and Yaare Koogadali (2013) are his production ventures. He co-starred with his brother Shiva Rajkumar for the movie, Ibbara Naduve Muddina Aata in 1996.

He was born in Chennai on Indian Independence Day in the year 1965 into a family with a film legacy. His father Rajkumar was already a star then and the most celebrated personality of Kannada film scene who fully dominated the industry. He made his acting debut as a child artist in the 1970s. Sri Srinivasa Kalyana (1974) and Daari Tappida Maga (1975) are his film roles as a child actor. He got associated with film industry since late 1980s as an adult actor and throughout 1990s he mostly played lead hero roles.  

Chiranjeevi Sudhakara (1988) directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao was his debut movie as an adult actor and later he acted in Nanjundi Kalyana, Gajapathi Garvabhanga, Anukoolakkobba Ganda, Kalyana Mantapa, Sutradhara, Navibbaru Namagibbaru, Anuraagada Alegalu, Bharjari Gandu, Tuvvi Tuvvi Tuvvi, Ibbara Naduve Muddina Aata etc are some of his movies later. He frequently worked with director M. S. Rajashekar and played a cameo role in his movie - Aasegobba Meesegobba, a remake of Hindi cult classic comedy Golmaal.
