Radhika Chetan Biography

Radhika Chetan is a successful film actress associated with Kannada cinema. She made her acting debut of the Kannada mystery thriller RangiTaranga in 2015. She played the lead role in this movie which was a commercial success. The movie marked the career of Anup Bhandari as a successful film director, screenwriter, lyricist and music composer, while his younger brother Nirup Bhandari played lead role in the film, which was shortlisted for 2015 Academy awards. Radhika also shared space with Avantika Shetty for this film. For her performance in the debut flick, she was nominated at IIFA Utsavam Award for Best Performance in a Leading Role, and also SIIMA for best female debutant.

 

She played the supporting actress role in the 2016 horror thriller U Turn. It was only her second film, and her role was well appreciated. BB5, Kaafi Thota, and Hottegagi Genu Bategagi were her released films up-to-date. She appeared in an item song for 2018 film, The Villain. She is currently working on the Kannada projects, Chase and Asathoma Sadgamaya. Her acting experience first happened with 2012 short film - Bang-Lure, and she appeared in two more short films - Dil Say and Never End later. Till now, she has been lucky to get strong roles.

 

She hails from Udupi, Karnataka. She was born in Mysore. She is a trained dancer also, trained in Kathak dance form. She is also involved with theater, and has done a few short films too. She completed her engineering course from Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering & Technology, Mysore before she entered Kannada film debut. She made an impressive debut with RangiTaranga in 2015, and repeated the same with her second flick, U Turn also cementing her position among one of the most promising newcomers of Kannada film industry.
