Praveen Prem Biography

Praveen Prem is a film actor associated with Malayalam cinema, best known for character and comic roles. As a film actor, he gained recognition through Prithviraj starrer, Seventh Day and also Crocodile Love Story, where he played lead role. He started his film career with 2010 film, Katha Thudarunnu, co-starring Jayaram. Tournament (2010) was his first major role. The movie was directed by Lal, and he played the supporting role of Usman Ali. He played his first lead role through the romantic comedy, Crocodile Love Story in 2013, followed by Dummy Tappasu (Tamil debut in a lead role). He also turned a TV anchor in 2013 through the cookery show Pacchamulaku for Media One TV.

 

Praveen Prem was born on 21 April 1984 in Maruthoorkadavu, Thiruvananthapuram. After his plus-two, he took a diploma in film and video editing from Keltron, Thiruvananthapuram. In 2008 he started his film career as an assistant editor under Mahesh Narayanan. He assisted this editor for one year, and worked in many ad and feature films. Then he left editing and joined theatre. He worked with Soorya Krishnamoorthy for the theater group Soorya, and also started appearing in amateur plays since 2009. His roles in the plays - Pulari and Sookshmacharcha played an important role in shaping his acting talents.

 

In 2010, he marked his acting debut through Sathyan Anthikad’s Kadha Thudarunnu. He played the brief role of Harichandran in the film. Since then he started playing small roles, before moving to supporting and lead roles. He gained recognition through comic roles he played on screen. His role in 7th day garnered him praises, and helped to gain foot in the industry. He has also done cameo roles in a few movies.
