Prakash Kovelamudi Biography 
Prakash Kovelamudi is a cine personality associated with Telugu cinema. He is known as an actor, screenwriter and a National award winning film director. As a film director, his debut film Bommalata won National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu in 2006. Born into a filmy family of legends, he is the son of Tollywood director K. Raghavendra Rao and grandson of Kovelamudi Surya Prakash Rao. The cinematographer and director K. Bapaiah is his uncle. Shobu Yarlagadda is his brother in law and author Kanika Dhillon is his wife. Prakash is a seasonal actor who has done only two movies since 2002 – Telugu romantic film, Neetho (2002) and English film co-starring National award winning actress Shabana Azmi, Morning Raga (2004).
Prakash Kovelamudi was born into a family of filmmakers. His full name is Kovelamudi Prakash Rao. He was born on 15 May 1975 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. He was predetermined to join the film stream, as many of his family members are already associated with it. He graduated in IT and Theater arts from the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in West Hollywood. He started off as an actor in Telugu cinema, and later switched over to film direction.
He marked his acting debut in a lead role through 2002 romantic film, Neetho, which was later remade in Tamil as Sachein. He was also seen in an offbeat film, Morning Raga, before he switched over to film direction. He surprised everyone including film critics with his directorial debut, Bommalata in 2004 which went on to win best regional film at National awards. He made his first mainstream film, Anaganaga O Dheerudu in 2011 which marked Telugu debut of Shruti Haasan.
In 2015 he made Telugu-Tamil bilingual romantic comedy film, Size Zero and currently working on his first Bollywood film, Mental Hai Kya, starring National award winning and popular actors, Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao. It is produced by Ekta Kapoor.
