Pooja Ruparel Biography

Pooja Ruparel is a Bollywood actress who played two significant roles in Shah Rukh Films, one as a child artist and the second one as a teenager. She made her film debut through King Uncle in 1992 as a child artist, which happened to Shah Rukh Khan’s first release too. Later she played Kajol’s younger sister in legendary movie that completed 1000 weeks in theatre – Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, fondy called DDLJ. Her role as cute young Punjabi girl was also well appreciated. Most recently she appeared in Anil Kapoor's most popular TV show 24 aired on colors. Her sister Bhavna Ruparel is also an actress, who made her Bollywood debut through 'Chal Picchur Banate Hai'. She is the cousin of Bollywood actress - Sonakshi Sinha.

Ruparel was born in 1981 and she made her film debut in 1992 through King Uncle – One among the first three or four releases of popular star Shah Rukh Khan. She also shared screen space with Jackie Shroff, Anu Agarwal and Nagma for the movie. Though the movie was not a commercial hit, Pooja was the highlight of the movie, who stole audience’ hearts the most. She appeared for the second time for yet another Shah Rukh movie quite coincidently – DDLJ. She played Kajol’s supporting and innocent sister in this movie. DDLJ was released in 1995.

Though she didn’t appear in any more movies, she was seen in a few TV ads and she also worked with theatre. Not many know the fact that she is the first cousin of Sonakshi Sinha. Her mother Sunita and Sonakshi Sinha's mother Poonam are sisters. Shatrughan Sinha is her uncle. She appeared with the successful team of DDLJ in the popular TV show - Comedy Nights with Kapil, after the film completed 1000 running weeks.
