Pijush Saha Biography

Pijush Saha is a filmmaker associated with Bengali cinema. He is also a film producer and screenwriter. He is associated with film scene since 2002, and in a career spanning to more than 15 years he has done about a dozen of Bengali films. Beparoyaa, Kellafate, Bajimaat and Tulkalam are his notable works. Tui Amar Rani (2018) starring Surya and Misty Jannat is his most recent release, and Beparoyaa starring Surya and Papri Ghosh was released in 2016. He regularly worked with Prosenjit Chatterjee and Rachana Banerjee during his early days.

 

Pijush Saha hails from Kolkata, West Bengal. He was born in the year 1970 as the son of Primal Chandra Saha. He completed his education from University of Calcutta. He married Kakali Saha at the age of 22, and the couple has two children. He joined film industry in 2001, and directed his first full-fledged film in 2002 – Satrur Mukabela. The movie starred Prosenjit Chatterjee and Rachana Banerjee in lead roles. He experimented with the same pair for his next two films – Kartabya (2003) and Gerakal (2004). In 2005 he directed Prosenjit Chatterjee in Raju Uncle and Rachana Banerjee in 2007 film, Tulkalam.

 

Bajimat (2008), Neel Akasher Chandni (2009), Kellafate (2010), Beparoyaa (2016) and Tui Amar Rani (2018) are his releases later. His movies - Kellafate (2010) and Neel Akasher Chandni (2009) earned Kalakar Awards in Best Bengali Film category. His 2005 film Gerakal earned the prestigious BFJA Awards for best clean & entertaining film for the year. He has given many popular and entertaining movies over the years, and has worked with many top A-grade actors too.
