Parvathi Menon Biography

Parvathi Menon’s real name is Parvathi Thiruvoth Kottuvata and she is also known as Parvathi, an actress from Kozhikode who works in south Indian movies. She debut silver screen through the Malayalam flick, Out of syllabus released in 2006 and later done many movies in Tamil as well.

 
Parvathi was born in Kozhikode on 7th April 1988 to P. Vinod Kumar and T.K. Usha Kumari. She completed her school studies from Thiruvananthapuram. She is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer too. She completed her B.A. in English Literature from All Saints' College, Thiruvananthapuram and later pursued PG through distant education. She has anchored many musical live shows of Kiran TV of Sun Network. She played a college student’s role in her debut movie, Out of syllabus released in 2006. Her second movie was critically well acclaimed movie Notebook the same year, where her supporting role as one among the three girls was well appreciated. Next year she played Mukesh’s daughter’s role in Dileep –Meera Jasmin starrer Satyan Anthikad movie, Vinodayatra.

 
Her first leading role was in the Kannada film Milana where she was paired opposite Puneet Rajkumar. The movie turned out to be a box office success. The movie ran for 450 days at a multiplex in Bangalore. Her first movie in Malayalam in lead role was Flash, where she worked aside Mohanlal and Indrajith. But its failure prompted to concentrate on to other regional languages. In 2008, she debut Tamil movies with the movie Poo opposite Srikanth. She had to reject many offers to work for this movie and upon release, the film and her performance won rave reviews. She won Filmfare Best Tamil Actress Award and Vijay award for debut best actress. She also received a nomination for best actress at Vijay Awards. Later she appeared in Chennayil oru naal and Maryan. Pritvi and Andhar Bahar are her Kannada movies.
