Pandiraj Biography

Pandiraj is a Tamil film director best known for the commercial and critically successful movie - Pasanga released in 2009. He made his directorial debut through the same movie, which earned numerous awards at various award functions including National Film Award for Best Screenplay. He also received a Filmfare nomination for best Tamil director the same year. He has directed only 4 movies till now – Pasanga (2009), Vamsam (2010), Marina (2012) and Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga (2013). He has also produced two of his directorial ventures, written script and dialogues of a few and has also done the role of a distributor. He wrote the dialogues of 2014 hit movie - Goli Soda directed by S.D. Vijay Milton.


He belongs to Pudukkottai, born in the year 1976. Since younger days writing was his passion and he wrote short stories. He reached Chennai in 1996 and started his film journey as an office-boy for director K. Bhagyaraj. After a lot of struggles he got opportunity to work under Cheran as an assistant. Later he worked under Thangar Bachan and Chimbu Deven before making his directorial debut. With Pasanga he made his directorial debut and this movie earned him instant fame and success. Through this movie he introduced actor Vimal. He also introduced numerous artists to film industry through his maiden venture.


This director is known for introducing many new artists to film industry. Actors Vimal and Siva Karthikeyan, Cinematographers Vijay and Prem Kumar, Music Directors Girish and Taj Noor, Editors Athiyappan Siva and Yoga Baskar, Art Directors A. A. Devaraj and Crawford and a crew of child artists through Pasanga need special note. Ithu Namma Aalu and a project with Sivakarthikeyan are his upcoming movies.
