Niveditha Arjun Biography

Niveditha Arjun is a former film actress associated with south Indian cinema. She is a trained classical dancer and performer too. She is best known as the wife of top star, Arjun Sarja and daughter-in-law of yesterday actor Shakti Prasad. Her daughter Aishwarya Arjun is also a popular actress associated with south Indian cinema. She is the daughter of actor Rajesh. Though she opted out of films, she is a film producer and also pursues her dance career. As a film actress, she is best known for her debut film, Ratha Sapthami, which was a blockbuster. She played the lead role in her debut flick, and her name was credited as Asha Rani.

Niveditha Arjun was born in Bangalore, Karnataka. She was born into a family with strong filmy background. Her father Rajesh has worked in many Kannada movies in lead role in 1960s and 1970s. Niveditha was married to a filmy family too, with three generations associated with cinema & acting now. She married actor Arjun Sarja, and gave birth to twin daughters. Her daughters – Aishwarya works as a film actress while Anjana Arjun works as a fashion designer in New York. Niveditha quit films soon after her marriage with Arjun, yet continued with her career as a classical dancer.

Niveditha Arjun marked her acting debut with M. S. Rajashekar's blockbuster hit, Ratha Sapthami (1986) playing the female lead. She used the screen name Asha Rani for her early releases. The movie was remade to Tamil, and its main plot was used for one Bollywood film, marking sensational debut of Hrithik Roshan. She later worked in both Tamil and Kannada films till her marriage. After marriage she said good bye to acting and moved to Chennai. She is now associated with family production house.
