Nisha Noor Biography

Nisha Noor was a south Indian actress who appeared in all the four south Indian regional language movies, though quite a few. She played one of the female leads of Kalyana Agathigal (1986), the women-centric Tamil film directed by K. Balachander. Her supporting role in Mammootty starrer Malayalam movie, Iyer the Great (1990) was also well appreciated. Tik Tik Tik, Chuvappu Naada, Mimics Action 500, Inimai Idho Idho etc are a few more noted roles of Nisha, who stayed at career peak in the 1980s. She became a victim of sexual exploitation from the film industry, for which she disappeared from scene. Years later when she was rediscovered, her condition was pathetic, almost reduced to a skeleton.

 

Nisha Noor was born in September 18, 1962. She started her film career in the early 1980s, Tik Tik Tik (1981) being one of the early releases. She predominantly worked in Malayalam and Tamil movies, and succeeded in both these languages too. She has romanced superstars like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan onscreen during her glorious era of 1980s. But later she disappeared from scene without intimating anyone. Rumours spread that she was forced into prostitution by one of the filmmakers with whom she worked with.

 

She was rediscovered years later outside a Dargah in Chennai, sleeping on the streets and reduced to nearly a skeleton. Her condition was so worse that worms and ants were crawling on her body. She was rescued by a Tamil NGO who admitted her in a hospital. However she succumbed to death on April 23, 2007 in the hospital. She was only 44. She was suffering from worse. Little is known about how she fell out with her family members.
