Nirup Bhandari Biography

Nirup Bhandari is a film actor who works in Kannada cinema. His brother Anup Bhandari is also associated with Kannada film industry, known to be a film director, composer and lyricist. Till now brothers teamed up for two movies since 2015, trying with almost all major departments associated with films, from acting to songs as well as film direction. He is the son of Sudhakar Bhandari, who has directed a few Kannada television serials.

Nirup marked his debut with the mystery thriller film, RangiTaranga written and directed by his brother Anup Bhandari in his debut, and produced by H. K. Prakash. Nirup played male lead in this film, opposite Radhika Chetan. The film was opened to critical acclaim, and shortlisted at 88th Academy Awards though couldn’t make to the final list. The film performed very well at the domestic box office as well as overseas, successfully completing 50 days of theatric run. The maiden venture established and cemented the position of Bhandari brothers in the industry.

In 2018, the brothers came up with the second film, Rajaratha, this time a romantic comedy film written and directed by Anup Bhandari, who composed music and penned lyrics too. The movie got mixed to negative reviews, and was not received well at audience end. Avantika Shetty played female lead in both these films.

Nirup Bhandari hails from Puttur, Karnataka. He has worked as a child artist in films and television shows during his younger days. He graduated in engineering degree from VVIET, Mysore. Nirup learnt acting in Ratan Thakore Grant acting school, and also took dancing classes, before he forayed into films. He is married to his longtime girlfriend, Dhanya.
