Nimisha Sajayan Biography

Nimisha Sajayan is a budding actress of Malayalam cinema, who shot to fame with her debut film, Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum directed by Dileesh Pothan. She played a village girl Sreeja and Suraj Venjaramoodu’s wife in the highly acclaimed and biggest blockbuster of the year, Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum. Fahadh Fasil also played the parallel lead role in this film. Nimisha, though a modern girl brought up in Mumbai played a village girl without any make up, and Malayalis welcomed her with both hands. Her realistic acting received a big thumps up from all. Eeda – is her upcoming release, where she plays a college girl opposite Shane Nigam.

Nimisha Sajayan was born and brought up in Mumbai. Her father Sajayan is an engineer and mother, Bindu a house wife. She has one elder sister Nidhu. Since childhood she has been fascinated by film industry and she receives full support from family members to work in this industry. Though she pursued Mass Communication, she discontinued and now doing the course as correspondence.

Very soon she saw the casting call of Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, she sent her photos to the filmy crew. They were satisfied with her look, and as she was not fluent in Malayalam, she had to learn the language a little bit. For the film, actress Srinda Arhaan dubbed her role. She also did an acting course at Kochi for three months. As a part of her character study, she went to Kaloor fish market and closely watched women selling fishes. She also wore their costumes, and sold a few fishes, to get into the skin of the character.

Since younger days, she is keen in martial arts. She owns a black belt in Taekwondo, which has increased her confidence a lot. She is interested in drawing too. A great Krishna devotee, she never draws anyone, except Lord Krishna. She also loves dance and loves Madhuri’s dance moves. She is fond of Kerala food, especially fish. She loves food wrapped in banana leaf.
