Neha Mahajan Biography

Neha Mahajan is a talented Indian actress and musician who appears in Malayalam, Bollywood and Marathi movies. This promising and talented actress has become much popular through internationally acclaimed movies like Midnight's Children and Feast of Varanasi. Midnight's Children (2012) was a controversial movie directed by Indian director – Mira Nair, where Neha played the role of young Naseem. It was her debut movie also. Later she came to limelight through Bevakt Barish Sumitra Bhave – the movie directed by Sunil Sukthankar. In 2015, she made her Malayalam film debut through - Chayam Pooshiya Veedu. She has worked with finest directors of Indian film industry like Deepa Mehta and Sumitra Bhave.

Neha belongs to Pune, Maharashtra born to sitar maestro Pandit Vidur Mahajan. She is a native of Talegaon Dabhade. She is a trained musician who learnt sitar from Pandit Vidur Mahajan, her father and used to accompany him for live shows. She has later given solo performances. She took training in acting from Trimble Tech High School, Texas, USA before her foray into theatre. She also took Masters in Philosophy from the University of Pune. She was actively involved in theatre and plays during her college days. She has worked in movies belonging to Marathi, English, Hindi, Malayalam, and Oriya languages.

She was spotted by Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukathankar in one such theatric performance and gave her the debut film - Bewaqt Barish. It was during her academic years at Pune, Deepa Mehta spotted her and casted her for Midnight's Children. Currently she is associated with both commercial and parallel cinema. One Way Ticket, Youth, Nilkanth Master and Ishq-e-Hyderabadi are her upcoming releases. She acted in Coffee: Ani Barach Kahi, Ajoba, Feast of Varanasi, X (Bollywood film) etc.
