Neel Sethi Biography 
Neel Sethi is the protagonist Mougli of the much awaited Hollywood film for children - The Jungle Book. With his debut flick, Neel is in limelight right now and has already become a star. This American child actor is of Indian origin and he has earlier appeared in one short film – Diwali in 2013. Disney's 2016 live-action film The Jungle Book got released in India on April 8th, one week prior to its release in US. The movie is based on Rudyard Kipling’s classic novel, The Jungle Book, a fantasy book for kids set on Indian jungle, written for his 6-year old daughter. An animated film has earlier been made in 1967, which is quite nostalgic to Indian TV audience of late 1980s and early 1990s.
Neel Sethi was born in Manhattan, New York to Indian parents. This 10-year old boy was chosen for the title role of the dream project of Jon Favreau, after thousands of auditions. Sethi was picked by the director after an extensive search in New York, New Zealand, London, Canada, and India, apart from several other countries. He was informed about the audition by his Bhangra teacher and got selected from 2000 kids to play the role. Sethi, now 12 years old is quite new to big screen and he has appeared in one short film earlier. Neel has delivered a fabulous performance for the movie which has received positive response from audience and critics till now.
Though he has no professional acting experience, he has managed to win the hearts of the audience. Sethi breathes life into his Mowgli in an inimitable manner and delivers dialogues in an impressive way. Sethi is the only actor seen on the screen and the rest of cast are animated. Though he has watched the 1967 version of the movie, he has never read the book till its auditions. Now Sethi is excited about watching the film with his classmates and friends. He actually wants to become a dentist, now he dreams to become a film star too.
