Navika Kotia Biography

Navika Kotia is a young actress associated with films and television. She is best known for playing Sridevi’s daughter in the bilingual film - English Vinglish, which marked her comeback. She also played supporting roles in a few Hindi television serials such as Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai as Chikki, Kasamh Se as Vidya, Baa Bahoo Aur Baby as Lucky Thakkar, Saath phere as Kamini and Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak? as Tara. She was seen in a small role of Vidya Balan’s childhood character in Bhool Bhulaiya. Chinnadana Nee Kosam, Murugaatruppadai and Attarintiki Daredi are her Telugu films. She mostly plays younger sister’s character roles on big screen.

She was born on 20 May 2000. She started off her acting career as a child artist and later moved to teenager roles. She impressed audience with her performance in English Vinglish. She played the pivot role of Sapna, Sashi’s daughter who frequently insults her mother for not knowing fluent English. For the television show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, she played the elder sister of Shivansh Kotia. Both are real life siblings and they appeared as siblings in English Vinglish too. The movie was released in Tamil language as well, which made her popular down South too.

Currently she is active in television apart from doing south Indian films. She is active in the film and television industry since 2008. Chikki in the serial Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is her most popular role of television. She is also the elder sister of Shivansh Kotia and they appeared as siblings for the movie, English Vinglish and the television series, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. She did a cameo role in an episode of crime series - Savdhaan India, aired on Life OK.
