Naina Balsaver Biography

Naina Balsaver is a former Indian model who was crowned as Femina Miss India 1976 and universally represented at Miss Universe 1976, though unplaced. She was appointed to represent India at Miss Universe 1976 and Miss World 1976 pageants, though was able to participate in Miss Universe pageant only. She is the single beauty queen who got the credit to hold both these titles. She has also appeared in a few Bollywood films and television serials. Currently she is involved with Jewellery designing and many of her designs are used by ramp models and celebrities for fashion shows.

Naina Balsaver was born in Uttar Pradesh. She won Miss India contest in 1976; the only Femina Miss India winner who carried the both Femina Miss India Universe and Femina Miss India World titles. Though she was to represent India for both these universal contests, she was able to participate in Miss Universe contest only and was misplaced. She withdrew from the Miss World pageant due to India's protest against apartheid.

Later she appeared in a few movies though not successful. She was seen in the television series, Manzil. Very often she supplies her designed jewellery for ramp shows wore by celebrates. She also had a short stint in politics though not successful. She unsuccessfully contested on BSP ticket against N. D. Tiwari. Naina is married twice. She was married at a very young age of 19 and had one son Akarsh from that wedlock. Later she met a politician cum real estate developer, Raseel Gujral in 1992 at a party. It was 6 years after her divorce that she met Raseel. She had a child from second marriage.
