Mysore Lokesh Biography

Mysore Lokesh was a cine personality associated with Kannada cinema, known as an actor. He was also associated with Kannada theatre. Many of his family members and close relatives are associated with the field of cinema and entertainment. His daughter Pavitra Lokesh is a well-known Kannada actress, while her husband Suchendra Prasad is a famous film, stage and television personality. His son Adi Lokesh has also worked in films as an actor. Mysore Lokesh died too young in 1994, when he was fully active in cine industry. He died on 14 October 1994.

 

Mysore Lokesh was born on 19 May 1947 in Karnataka. He got associated with Kannada cinema in the late 1970s. Chandanada Gombe (1979) was his first film appearance. He started doing bit roles in the early 1980s and then moved to meaty character roles. He was fully active in the 1980s and also till 1994, when he passed away. As an actor, some of his memorable roles include - Manasa Sarovara (1982), Thulasidala (1985), Bandhana (1984), Gajapathi Garvabhanga (1989), S. P. Sangliyana Part 2 (1990), Mathe Haditu Kogile (1990),  Ramaachari(1991) etc. He has donned numerous character and comic roles on silver screen. Within a time span of 15 years, he appeared in more than 170 Kannada films.

 

Many of his family members are artists, associated with cine industry. Pavitra Lokesh remains the most successful name. Following the death of her father in her early teens so unexpectedly, due to the financial conditions of the family she took acting, though she was reluctant initially. She wanted to join civil service. Later she went on to become a very popular actress of Kannada film industry.
