Mia Uyeda Biography

Mia Evonne Uyeda, better known as Mia Uyeda is a Canadian VJ turned model and actress who is currently associated with MTV India. She gained attention in India soon after she posed for the prestigious Kingfisher Calendar as a model in the year 2007. She is also the Video Jockey of MTV India's popular show, Saturday Night Shuffle. Her entry to Bollywood was through an item number for the dark comedy film, Sankat city in 2010. She has also done cameo roles for Bollywood movies, Tees maar Khan and Cocktail and Yash Raj Films' serial Khotey Sikkey. She also participated as a contestant in the fourth series of television reality show of Akshay Kumar, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi.

Mia Evonne Uyeda was born on 25 May 1984 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Her father is an adopted child to a Japanese family while her mother belonged to Canada. Her entry to modelling industry was a strange surprise and she entered the field at the age of 14. She has sucecsfully modeled for Canada, Europe, America and East Asia and at the age of 21, reached Mumbai. Very soon she recognized that India is one of the most sought nations for foreign models and she decided to stay here. She appeared in a few fashion shows and one such occasion offered her the dream project of model of Kingfisher Calendar.

Very soon she got noticed in Indian fashion industry and she got opportunity to endorse many foreign brands in the country. Apart from being the face of Elle and L'Officiel she was also featured in FHM, Maxim, Cosmopolitan, Grazia and Femina. She appeared in a few advertisements and also made cameo roles in a few Bollywood movies. She also acted in the movie, Blood money.
