Meghana Raj Biography

Meghana Raj is a south Indian actress who concentrates on Malayalam cinemas. Till now, Beautiful released in the year 2012 is regarded as her best performance, where she worked aside Jayasurya and Anoop Menon. She was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress – Malayalam for this memorable performance. She works on other south Indian films as well.

Meghana Raj was born in Bangalore as the only daughter to film actors Sundar Raj and Pramila Joshai. Sundar raj is a famous Kannada actor who has worked for more than 180 films. Her mother is also a noted Kannada actress and film producer. She debut film world in the year 2009 with Telugu movie, Bendu Apparao R.M.P. Next year she debut Tamil movies with Kaadhal Solla Vandhen, Malayalam with Vinayan’s movie Yakshiyum Jnanum and Kannada with Punda, for which she won Suvarna Film Award for Best Debut Actress. So, in the year 2010, she debut in three south Indian languages. Yakshiyum Jnanum was the comeback movie of Thilakan after his conflicts with AMMA association and it received mixed to good responses as well.

Following the success of debut movie in Malayalam, Meghana worked in a series of Malayalam movies - August 15, Achante aanmakkal, Namukku Parkkan, Mullamottum Munthiricharum, Banking hours 10 to 4, Maad Daad, Poppins, Madirasi, Up & Down - Mukalil Oralundu, Memories, Red wine, Beautiful and Pachuvum Kovalanum. Red wine opposite Mohanlal was a box-office failure and Memories opposite Prithviraj was well received. Up & Down - Mukalil Oralundu did average business at the Kerala Box office. Her next venture is 100 degree celsious.

A series of south Indian movies is to release this year. Her released Tamil movies are - Uyarthiru 420, Nandha Nandhitha and Kaadhal Solla Vandhen. Two movies - Kalla Siripazhaga and Nimirndhu Nil are to release this 2013. Her Kannada movies - Raja Huli and Bahuparaak, too will get released this year.
