Maya S. Krishnan Biography
Maya S. Krishnan is an actress, model and singer associated with Tamil film industry. She made her acting debut in the campus drama, Vaanavil Vaazhkai released in 2015. Her sister, Swagatha S. Krishnan has also rendered her voice for a few songs in Tamil films. As an actress, some of her memorable roles include Thodari, Magalir Mattum etc. Maya is also a theatre artist, who worked with Chennai-based theatre company ‘The Little Theatre’, and currently with ‘Evam and Perch’. She earned a role in Rajinikanth starrer big budget movie, 2.0, and the movie is slated to release in 2018. Dhruva Natchathiram, Server Sundaram etc are other upcoming projects.
Her real name is Maya Sundarakrishnan. She hails from Madurai, Tamil Nadu. She was born on 15 April 1996. She completed schooling from her hometown and later completed engineering from Bangalore. She is interested in sports since young. She is a child gymnastic too, and has played till national level. She marked her acting debut with theatre and her experience in theatre paved way to films. She has been a part of the successful play, Kira Kuzhambu which was staged in more than 52 places across the globe.
She was first seen in James Vasanthan's Vaanavil Vaazhkai, where she had to cut her hair short to play a singer. But the movie received negative reviews and went unnoticed. She gained popularity through her second release, Thodari released in 2016. She played the supporting role of a reporter in Dhanush starrer. She had two releases in 2017 - Magalir Mattum and Velaikkaran. She remained in limelight and has bagged a few more projects from the industry. Among all 2.0 is the big release, where she has some combination scenes with the megastar Rajinikanth.
