Manoj Pahwa Biography

Manoj Pahwa is an Indian film and television actor known for comic roles. His noted character roles in Bollywood movies are 7½ Phere (2005), Being Cyrus (2005), Singh Is Kinng (2008), Dabangg 2 (2012) and Jolly LLB (2013). He has done about 50 Bollywood movies. As a television actor, he is most known for the role as Bhatia in the Comedy series Office Office (2001). His debut Bollywood movie was Tere mere sapne, released in 1996, the movie produced by ABCL Corporation to promote new talents. He played the character role of detective Mirchandani in this movie. This movie also marked the successful beginning of Bollywood actors like Chandrachur Singh, Arshad Warsi and Priya Gill and Tamil top actress Simran. Darna Zaroori hai, released in 2006 is one of the significant roles of his career.

Manoj was born in Delhi on September 1, 1963 to Punjabi parents. He did his schooling from National Public School, New Delhi. He started her acting career as a television actor for the series, Just Mohabbat (1996-2000). Simultaneously he worked in Bollywood movies in bit character roles. He has also done a bit role in popular Doordarshan serial of 1980’s – Hum log. He played the role of Tony. Tere mere sapne, Aar ya paar, Taal and Satya are a few of his initial roles during second half of 1990’s. From early 2000’s, he began to get a bit more significant roles like Hey ram, Tum bin, Aapko Pehle Bhi Kahin Dekha Hai, Kuch to hai, Naach, Being Cyrus and 7½ Phere. In 2006, Darna zaroori hai became one of his noted roles though this thriller and experimental film was a flop.

As a television actor, he has appeared in a few comic roles. Office Office (2001), Sab Golmaal Hai (1997), Office Office (2000) and Ekka Begum Badshah (2002) are a few such. His latest Bollywood appearances include – Debaangg 2, 3 Bachelor, Houseful, Mausam and Ready.
