Lollu Sabha Balaji Biography

Lollu Sabha Balaji was an actor associated with Tamil entertainment industry. He was a film and television actor, known for comic and supporting roles. As a film actor, he earned recognition through Silambattam and Dindigul Sarathy. Yet it was through a couple of television shows which earned him the real recognition in entertainment industry and a lot of fans. Television comedy shows like Super 10 and Lollu Sabha made him immensely popular, and his comedy timing and dialogue delivery skills earned him a lot of appreciation and huge popularity also. After the huge success of the show, Lollu Sabha, the tag got permanently added to his name.

 

His real name is Balaji, born in the year 1971. He earned popularity through the comedy series, Lollu Sabha in the mid-2000s, whose each episode was a spoof of a Tamil feature film or television show. The immensely popular show contributed a few artists to the film industry and Balaji was one among those. Other great finds of the show include - N. Santhanam, Swaminathan, Lollu Sabha Jeeva, Manohar and Jangiri Madhumitha, who established as film actors later. In fact it was Balaji who introduced Santhanam to the show’s director. Similar to a few co-stars of the show, Balaji too added the tag, ‘Lollu Sabha’ to his name after that.

 

Balaji also did some memorable comedy roles on Tamil screen. As a film actor, some of his roles include - Kadhal FM, 18 Vayasu Puyale, Dindigul Sarathy, Silambattam, Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru, Newtonin Moondram Vidhi and Sirithal Rasipen. He also wrote the dialogues of 2013-release Thillu Mullu, a remake of the Rajinikanth starrer of the same name. He passed away in 2014 in Anagaputthur aged only 43 following jaundice.
