Lakha Lakhwinder Singh Biography

Lakha Lakhwinder Singh is an actor from Patiala, Punjab best known for his work in Punjabi movies. He has also worked in a few Bollywood films and TV soaps. Mitti Na Pharol Jogiya was his break through role in his acting career, and he played parallel lead aside Vir Das and Soha Ali Khan in Bollywood film written in the backdrop of Indira Gandhi assassination – October 31. The movie released in 2016 received rave reviews from critics.

 

Lakha Lakhwinder Singh was born in Patiala, Punjab on 12 September 1979. Sardar Babu Singh and Sardarni Balwant Kaur are his parents. Khanauri in Sangnur district is his hometown. After doing graduation from Govt. Mahindra College, he completed post-graduation in Theatre and Television from Punjabi University, Patiala in 2015. Lakha started off as a stage actor, and played main lead in in 25 Punjabi stage plays. He also appeared in a several TV commercials, apart from his movie and television appearances.

 

Lakha started his television career in the year 2005 with the show, Maharaja Ranjit Singh. He later appeared in Nai Reesan Mere Punjab Diyan. In 2007 he also got opportunity to work in English film, Partition. The film was set in 1947, based on the partition of India and Lakha was seen in a cameo role.  Though he appeared in a few TV serials and Punjabi movies, he earned the real recognition through Mitti Na Pharol Jogiya, yet another Punjabi film based on a true story of 1947 Partition of India and showcases Indo-Pak harmony. He was seen in a pivot role Lakha in the film.

 

Kaun Kare Insaaf, 25 Kille and 31st October are his noted works after Mitti Na Pharol Jogiya happened.he played the role of Bhagat Singh in TV series, Adrishya - Durga Bhabhi. Raaz Pichhle Janam Ka, Maharaja Ranjit Singh, Meet Mila De Rabba etc are a few more television works belonging to Hindi and Punjabi languages.
