Kutty Radhika Biography

Kutty Radhika is an actress of Kannada movies and remained among the top heroines’ list during 2000’s. She is also known as a film producer. As a producer, she has produced 2 Kannada movies – Lucky in 2010 and Sweety Nanna Jodi in 2013. In 2003, the movie Tayi Illada Tabbali fetched her Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actress. Her real name is Radhika Kumaraswamy.

Radhika was born on 1 November 1986. In 2002, she debut film world with the movie Thatha banda, when she was only 14. She was paired opposite Vijay Raghavendra and the movie was a box-office hit too. Same year, the movie - Neela Megha Shyama was also released where she was paired opposite Shivrajkumar. The movie too was a hit at box-office. Then she appeared in a series of movies, Tavarige Baa Tangi, Prema Qaidi, Romeo Juliet, Ooh La La, Mane Magalu, Hudugigaagi, Tayi Illada Tabbali and Mani. Ooh la la was Hemanth Hegde's directorial debut. In the movie Hudugigaagi she was casted alongside S. P. B. Charan. But all these movies were box office failures. But for the commercial failure movie Tayi Illada Tabbali, she won Karnataka state awards for the best actress.

Her failure in Kannada movies prompted her to work in Tamil movies and 5 movies were released in quick succession. In 2003, she debut Tamil with Iyarkai. This movie was S. P. Jananathan's debut directorial and it won many awards as well. Her Kannada movies released later were aside another female lead, including movies like Rishi, Masala and Auto Shankar. The movie Hatavadi brought her critical acclaim. Her later releases include Hettavara Kanasu, Good Luck, Odahuttidavalu, Anatharu and Janapada. With 2010’s, she entered production field.

Radhika reportedly married Ratan Kumar on November 26, 2000 when she was only 14. Later her mother reported that Ratan Kumar forcibly married her. However Ratan Kumar died in 2002 following a heart attack. In 2010 Radhika revealed that she got married to former Chief Minister of Karnataka in 2006 and has one daughter too.
