Kseniya Ryabinkina Biography

Kseniya Ryabinkina is a Russian professional ballet dancer who works in Russian movies apart from Hindi. As a Bollywood actress, she is best known for the role of Russian circus trapeze artiste and love interest of Raj Kapoor in the very famous movie of 1970s – Mera Naam Joker. Her role in the film was well noticed. She mostly plays supporting roles onscreen, and returned back to Bollywood in 2009 playing a brief role in Chintu Ji starring Rishi Kapoor, Raj Kapoor’s son. She also participated in a special program to mark the birth anniversary of the legendary Indian actor and director, best known as Showman of Bollywood.

Kseniya was born in Moscow, Russia in the year 1945. She was born to ballerina mother and a geo-physics doctor. Her elder sister too followed the footsteps of her mother, and earned fame in this field as an accomplished artist. Kseniya Ryabinkina too followed the footsteps of her mother and elder daughter, and started her career as a ballerina in Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre. Her experience in this field earned her the first film role for an Indian film. She played the pivot role of Marina - the Russian circus trapeze artiste and one among the love interests of Raj Kapoor in 1970 classic film, Mera Naam Joker. Though this much anticipated film with a huge budget failed terribly in box office, Kseniya’s beauty and skills got noticed.

As an actress she appeared in 11 movies belonging to Russian and Hindi languages, and has exhibited her talents as a ballet dancer through her works. She is the widow of Aleksei Stychkin, and their son Evgeniy Stychkin is a popular Russian actor. Actress Olga Sutulova is her daughter-in-law. During her old age, she is associated with ballerina and works as a mentor for its dancers apart from actors.
