Krish (film Director) Biography

Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi, known by the name Krish is a film director and screenwriter associated with Tollywood and Bollywood. Most recently his Telugu film, Kaanchi won National award for best movie in Telugu 2015. He made his debut as a film director with 2008 commercial hit – Gamyam, and later directed the movies, Vedam, Vaanam (Tamil), Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum, Kanche and the Bollywood film starring Akshay Kumar, Gabbar is Back (2015). The movie marked his successful debut as a Bollywood film director and was a commercial hit. Gautamiputra Satakarni starring Nandamuri Balakrishna is his much awaited project, and this historic film is scheduled to release in 2017.

 

Krish is one of the most successful directors of Telugu cinema at present. Within a short interval of time he made a name for himself as a sensible director and an engaging storyteller. Though marked under commercial genre, his movies have deep philosophical overtones. This director is fond of Indian mythology. He loves to read books and plays volley ball.

 

He made his film debut in the year 2008. His directorial debut, Gamyam was a Telugu blockbuster. The road movie starring Allari Naresh, Sharwanand, and Kamalinee Mukherjee earned him best director award at Filmfare and Nandi awards. He also played a cameo role of a naxalite in this film. Since then he has given some memorable movies in Telugu. His second film Vedam, a hyperlink cinema film starring Allu Arjun, Manoj Manchu, Anushka Shetty, Deeksha Seth was also well received by audience and gave him the second Filmfare award for best director. Both these movies were awarded best movies at Filmfare too.

 

In 2011, he remade Vedam to Tamil language and named as Vaanam. The movie too received positive response from audience and critics and was a box office hit. Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum in 2012 was his next release, which gave him a nomination for best director at Filmfare. The movie starring Rana Daggubati and Nayantara opened to high critical acclaim and was declared a hit at the box office. In 2015 he marked his Bollywood debut through Gabbar is Back, a remake of Telugu film Tagore and bagged his first National award through Kanche too.
