Koushik Roy Biography

Koushik Roy is an actor associated with Bengali cinema and television. As a television actor he is best known for playing the antagonist Krishnendu Sengupta in the popular Bengali television soap - Bojhena Se Bojhena aired on Star Jalsa since 2013. He also plays the role of Samudra in the Bengali series, Punyi Pukur aired on Star Jalsa since 2015. He is a recipient of Star Jalsha Parivaar Awards for Shera Kholnayak (Best Villain) for his outstanding performance as antagonist in the popular series - Bojhena Se Bojhena. Lead roles of the series are played by Yash Dasgupta and Madhumita Sarcar Chakraborty, and Koushik plays the negative role of Advocate Krishnendu Sengupta.

As a film actor, he has appeared in the movies - Teen Patti, Goynar Baksho, Ekla Chalo, Onnyo Bwosonto, Proloy and a few more films. He played the lead role in Onnyo Bwosonto and a supporting role in Ekla Chalo. Onnyo Bwosonto is Zee Bangla Cinema's third original film after Ekla Cholo and Kader Kuler. The film was directed by Aditi Roy and he shared screen space with Kamaleswar Mukherjee and Rajdeep Gupta. The movie was released in 2015. Apart from Bojhena Se Bojhena, Josh as Shabba, Bodhu Kon Alo Laaglo Chokhe as Sougata Moitra, Ishti Kutum as Bikram and Punyi Pukur as Samudra are other noted appearances on mini screen.

He also played a cameo role in Bollywood film - Hasee Toh Phasee released in 2014. Bojhena Se Bojhena is a popular series of Bengali language aired since November 4, 2013. Successfully completed two years, the show is directed by Snehashish Jana, and the story written by Gul Khan. The show is a remake Of Hindi Soap Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?, aired on Star Plus.
