Kalidas Jayaram Biography

Kalidas Jayaram, also called Kalidasan is an upcoming young actor of Malayalam. He is better known as the son of star Malayalam couple – Jayaram and Parvathy. Kalidas has already established himself as an accomplished child artist through the movies – Kochu Kochu santhoshangal and Ente veedu appoonteyum and in both these movies he acted as Jayaram’s son. Ente veedu appoonteyum helped him to bag National award for best child artist. Both these movies were highly acclaimed and commercial hits as well.

 

Kalidas dreamt to become an actor since the age of 5. Both his parents are highly successful actors and established stars of Malayalam film industry and known to be the star couple who acted in numerous movies together.  His foray into acting was quite accidental. Jayaram was shooting for the movie, Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal at Goa, when its film director Sathyan Anthikkad wanted a 5-year old boy to play the character of lead actor Jayaram’s son. Young kalidas showed a great deal of interest and professionalism even at the age of 5 and that’s how he made his film debut.

 

As an actor, he surprised everyone with his second release - Ente veedu appoonteyum. He played the role of a young boy who accidentally kills his younger brother and tries to hide the crime. His role was so complex and Kalidas did it perfectly and bagged a National award for best child artist for the year 2005. In this movie too, he played the role of Jayaram’s son and Jyothirmayi played his lovable stepmother. Despite having a promising career in film industry, he concentrated on to his studies later. At present Kalidas is keen to enter film industry and listening to a few scripts. He has also appeared in a few television ads.
