Kajal Nishad Biography

Kajal Nishad is an actress associated with television shows and films. Apart from Bhojpuri films, she has acted in a few television soaps. Shaadi Biyah – is her noted Bhojpuri film. Her portrayal of the supporting character Chameli the comedy series, Lapataganj (2009-2010) on SAB TV made her a popular actress. She had a brief stint in state politics associated with Indian National Congress and contested in Uttar Pradesh state assembly election, 2012 from Gorakhpur (Rural) constituency. She contested as a youth-wing Indian Youth Congress candidate and finished fourth in the elections. Currently she is seen in Colors’ show - Ishq Ka Rang Safed, playing the role of Kanak Tripathi.

She is born in Mumbai to Gujarati parents. Her parents originally belong to Bhachau of Kutch district. She is married to Bhojpuri film producer Sanjay Nishad. Sanjay belongs to Gorakhpur, the constituency where Kajal stood as Youth Congress candidate for state assembly elections. She has worked in about a dozen Bhojpuri and Hindi films and over two dozen TV serials. Laaptaganj and Babul Ke Desh are her popular television roles and has played several glamorous daughter-in-law roles. She is a prominent actress associated with small budget Bhojpuri movies and was well appreciated for her work in Shaadi Biyah.

Tota Weds Maina – is one of her popular shows, playing the role of Ram Katori Chachi. After her short stint in politics, she returned back to entertainment industry. Khushiyon Ki Gullakh – Aashi – was one of her comeback shows, where she played Jhabroo Aunty, bubbly neighbour of Aashi. She is currently seen in Ishq Ka Rang Safed. During the state assembly elections campaign in 2012, she and her supporters was beaten up by supporters of BSP candidate and later an FIR was registered against BSP candidate, Ram Bhuwal Nishad and his supporters.
