K. M. Chaitanya Biography 
K. M. Chaitanya is a film director, documentary maker and theater personality belonging to Kannada language. Aa dinagalu marked his successful debut in film direction and it received numerous awrds at various award functions including the Filmfare Awards South for Best Director and Best Feature Film in 2007. Suryakanthi in 2009 and Paraari in 2013 are his next two released movies and he has announced the sequel of his previous release – Paraari. He is also known as a play director and has worked as the Bangalore correspondent for a technology show on CNN, titled CNN dotcom. He holds a degree in journalism. He has also worked as Associate director of Girish Karnad earlier.
Aa dinagalu in Kannada released in 2007 marked his successful debut. The movie starred Chethan Kumar, Veda Sastry, Girish Karnad, Vinaya Prasad, Sharath Lohitashwa, Ashish Vidyarthi and Atul Kulkarni. The story was scripted by Agni Shridhar and music was given by Ilayaraja. Aa Dinagalu is a story about the Bangalore underworld of the 1980s, which also includes some previews of 1975. The movie gathered numerous awards at various award functions including Filmfare and state awards. Chaitanya received best debutant director award from Kanfida, South Indian Cinematographers' Association and Chennai Film Fans Association. He also bagged Filmfare best director award. The film was both critically and commercially successful.
His second movie, “Suryakaanti released in 2010 was the first from South India to be shot in Uzbekistan. For this action packed romance drama too, music score was done by music maestro, Ilayaraja. He has also directed many documentary films. "Back To the Floor" was telecasted on BBC. His documentary on Cancer was titled "Cancer Stories", shot at UK. Chaitanya has directed many television series including a mini series based on "Kusumabaale".
