Joshna Fernando Biography

Joshna Fernando is a noted film actress associated with Tamil film industry. She hails from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, born in the year 1991. Joshna is a cousin to Tamil actresses, Raadhika and Nirosha, and many of her relatives have direct links with Tamil and south Indian cinema. Her father was the brother of M. R. Radha's wife. She belonged to the family of former actress Saroja. Joshna plays lead and supporting roles on silver screen. She is yet to get a good role which can lift her career.

Joshna Fernando has worked as a child artist in movies in late 1990s. She appeared in a telefilm titled Siragugal made in 1999. As an adult actress, she returned to silver screen in 2012, and is associated with film field since then. Marupadiyum Oru Kadhal (2012) was her first release, where she essayed the lead role of Maheswari, a London-born medical student. The movie opened to negative reviews and was a box office failure. Nothing in the movie is memorable except its comedy scenes by Vadivelu as "Dr. Singaram, MBBS". She was casted opposite Anirudh for this movie, written and directed by Vasu Baskar.

Her second film was Kai released the same year, and it also met with the same fate. The movie went unnoticed. In her third Tamil film, Irumbu Kuthirai released in 2014, she played the supporting role of Raai Laxmi’s sister. The role is not worth mentioning, and the film too was a big letdown. Unfortunately many of her scenes were edited out too. She joined the film after Lakshmi Rai walked out of the film. When she returned back, Joshua lost a few scenes of the movie.
