Jomon T. John Biography

Jomon T. John is a young and successful cinematographer associated with Malayalam cinema. Most recently he earned huge appreciation with his work for the love saga – Ennu Ninte Moideen. Earlier too, Jomon has done excellent works for commercial hits like Chaappa Kurishu (2011), Beautiful (2011), Thattathin Marayathu (2012), ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi (2013), Thira (2013), Oru Vadakkan Selfie (2015), Vikramadityan (2013), Nee-Naa (2015) and Ayalum Njanum Thammil (2012). Ennu Ninte Moideen is his best work up-to-date and the breakthrough movie of his career. He has received multiple nominations and awards for these movies. Jomon is married to popular Malayalam actress - Ann Augustine since 2014.

He belongs to Cherthala, born in the year 1982. He took a diploma in cinematography from Government Film and Television Institute, Bangalore and started his career in advertising field. His first break to films was given by Sameer Thahir and Chaappa Kurishu released in 2011. Thus regularly he got opportunities in Malayalam cinema and most of them became commercially successful as well. Apart from new directors, he also worked with young directors like Vineeth Sreenivasan. He also worked with versatile directors like Lal Jose and Major Ravi. Known for creating unique frames as visual treat, Jomon has also done one Bollywood movie produced by Malayali Bejoy Nambiar. His talent was easily noticed from his debut movie itself. But Thattathin Marayath was his first big break.

Jomon T John met Ann Augustine for the first time in 2010 at Kochi. Ann was already an actress and they came closer while working for a video for Jayasurya, directed by V K Prakash. He took decision to marry her within a short interval of 6 days. They got engaged in 2013 and married one year later. Surprisingly that music video never got released and just a destiny to bring the couple together.

2015 has proved to the biggest of Jomon’s career. He captured the real beauty of Mukkam village and Iruvanjippuzha River in its full glory in the latest work ‘Ennu Ninte Moideen’. Rain was also used in an effective manner in the movie.
