Jai Jagadish Biography

Jai Jagadish is a veteran actor, director and producer associated with Kannada film industry. As an actor, he is best known for the movies, Garjane (1981), Gaali Maathu (1981), Benkiyalli Aralida Hoovu (1983), Bandhana (1984), Madhuve Madu Tamashe Nodu (1986) etc. He ventured into film production and direction in the late 1990s and succeeded. As a filmmaker, his film Kothigalu Saar Kothigalu won the Filmfare Award for Best film. Bhoomi Thayiya Chochchala Maga marked his debut as a producer in 1998 and Madana marked his directorial debut in the year 2006, a remake of the successful 2004 Tamil film Manmadhan. However the film bombed at box office.

Jai Jagadish was born on June 29, 1954. He is married to Vijayalakshmi Singh. He started his career as an actor in Phalitamsha (1976). In a career spanning to more than 4 decades, this veteran appeared in over 300 films as an actor. He ventured into film production in the late 1990s and into direction field in the mid-2000s. As an actor, Jai Jagadish turned famous through his movie Panduwaralli Pandavaru released in 1978. There was no turning back after that.

He is widely regarded as a very talented actor in Tollywood Film Industry. Sanju Weds Geetha, Ugramm (2014), Bachchan (2013) and Ondu Kshanadalli (2012) are some of his works in the recent times, and he is fully active in Tollywood. Currently he is one of the most sought after character actors in the Kannada circuit. Madana (2006) marked his debut as a film director, and the actor also played a character role in the film. This veteran actor and an influential figure of Kannada cinema has acted in more than 300 movies in a career spanning to more than 4 decades.
