Hiten Paintal Biography

Hiten Paintal is a successful television actor. He is the son of legendary Bollywood comedian, Kanwarjit Paintal better known as Paintal. The popular character artist Gufi Paintal is his paternal uncle. Apart from television soaps, he has also played character roles for a few Hindi films. Tere Liye (2003), Rascals (2011), Dil Maange More (2004), Tukkaa Fitt (2012), Krantiveer (2009) and Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008) are some of his noted Bollywood appearances. He played male lead in Punjabi film - Ik Wari Haan Karde. As a television actor he gained attention through the popular series of Ekta Kapoor, Kasauti Zindagi Ki.

He was born 19 December 1978 in Srinagar as the son of legendary comedian Kanwarjit Paintal. His grandfather was associated with Pancholi Arts in Lahore before Partition. He was a cameraman in the industry who couldn’t make it big in the industry and later settled with a photography shop. Hiten’s first appearance was for television serials in the mid-2000s and quit the industry in 2008, to concentrate on to films. He made his Bollywood debut in the musical Tere Liye. But the movie was a flop at box office. But he managed to gain attention as a supporting actor.

This actor has played both positive and negative roles, apart from comic ones. Apart from daily soaps like Kasauti Zindagi Ki which earned him recognition, he has also appeared in episodic shows like     C.I.D., Ssshhhh...Koi Hai, Akela and Raat Hone Ko Hai, belonging to detective and horror genres. "Tukkaa Fitt" in 2012, is one of his best performances on celluloid. He worked with Rajpal Yadav and Riya Sen for the movie, Benny and Babloo.
