Hiten Kumar Biography

Hiten Kumar is a superstar associated with Gujarati cinema. Apart from his outstanding contributions to Gujarati cinema, he has successfully hosted television shows as well. He successfully hosted the show, titled Crime Time, on the lines of Crime Petrol, aired on Sony TV. Padkar... The Challenge, Kaun Halave Limdi Ne Kaun Jhulave Peelpli, Loi No Nahi E Koi No Nahi etc are among his major hits of Gujarati films. He started his Dhollywood journey as a villain and later emerged as one of the most successful actors of Gujarati cinema.

 

His real name is Hiten Mehta. He married Sonba in 1989 and in 2014 the couple celebrated their 25th anniversary. He made his film debut through the Gujarati film, Unchi Medina Uncha Mol in 1998. He played the male antagonist in his debut flick. However he later established as a star of Gujarati film industry. Desh Re Joya Dada Pardesh Joya in 1998 was his major breakthrough. The movie was produced and directed by Govindbhai Patel which earned 10 crores at box office in late 1990s and it also inspired other film makers to make similar social backdrop films. It was a time when Gujarati cinema was going through a worst time in the recent times. Since then he has been a part of many successful Gujarati films.

 

Prem Rang, released in 2016 was his latest release. Padkar…. The Challenge, Lohi No Nahi E Koi No Nahi, Kaun Halave Limdi Ne Kaun Jhulave Peelpli, Premi Zukya Nathi ne Zukshe Nahi, Preet Jhuke Nahi Saath Chhute Nahi, Chaar etc are among his latest hits. He anchored the crime show Crime Time... Fight Against Crime on VTV Gujarati in 2014-2015. One of the high rated shows on Gujarati channels, the show was able to strike the right chord with the Gujarati audience.
