Himarsha Venkatsamy Biography

Himarsha Venkatsamy is a very successful Indian model, best known for winning the prestigious Kingfisher Calendar Hunt in 2010. She won the contest at the age of 25 beating top models like Anjali Lavania and Nidhi Sunil in the final round. She has also appeared in a few Bollywood movies like Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans, where she played the character of Jumpa. She was also seen in 2010 Bollywood hit – I hate love stories.

She was born in 1984 to South African parents of Indian origin. She spent her childhood days in Durban, South Africa, where she started her modelling career at a very young age of 13. Himarsha is a physiotherapist by education. Her sister Terushka is also a model and established stylist, whom Himarsha beat in Kingfisher Calendar Hunt that was televised on NDTV Good Times. Himarsha studied at Witwatersrand University and during her final year, she decided to become a full time model. She has been a successful model in South Africa for a couple of years, till an IPL was hosted there. Himarsha got an opportunity to take part in auditions of Lakme Fashion Week conducted in SA, which she eventually got selected. Thus she reached India and has been a part of Lakme Fashion Week 2009.

In India she walked in ramp for many high profile designers like Tarun Tahiliani and Krishna Mehta and she got more time to explore India at its best. She with her sister travelled a lot and visited Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, Kashmir and Goa. Both the sisters applied for the Kingfisher Calendar Girl Hunt and Himarsha Venkatsamy won it beating her sibling in the final round.
