Hemashree Biography

Hemashree was a popular actress who worked in Kannada television soap operas. She had a very brief career in entertainment industry, and passed away in 2012 at the age of 29-30. She died of mysterious circumstances in October 2012, and it was alleged that her husband murdered her. They got married only in June 2011. They had a huge age gap of 20 years or so. Danda Pindagalu, Daridra Lakshmiyaru, Mahamayi, Tulasi, Uttarayana and Vatara are some of her popular Tv roles. She has also acted in a few Kannada films.

Her full name is Hemashree Hosahalli Nagaraju. She was born in 1982 in Tumkur, Karnataka. She made her acting debut through TV shows at a young age of 19 and rose to prominence very soon. With a bunch of film and television roles, she gained fame and popularity at a young age. Her career spanned to one decade till her death, aged only 29. She also had a brief and unsuccessful career in politics. She joined Bahujan Samaj Party, and contested in 2008 Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections from her hometown. She contested from Chikkanayakana Halli in the Tumkur region, and couldn’t win.

Some of her film roles are Appu (2002), Cinema Alla Real Story (2009), Marma (2002), Sirivantha (2006), Varsha (2005), Veera Parampare (2010) and Ugragami. She played lead role in Marma, and parallel lead in many other movies. Her film journey was not so successful and she concentrated on her television career.

She married R. Surendra Babu, an advocate and a realtor, on 22 June 2011. It was her mother who forced and convinced her to marry much older Surendra Babu, with a return of 48 lakh rupees cash. It was also alleged that it was her mother who forced her to join politics. This struggling actress was found dead under mysterious conditions and her husband became the prime suspect. She had an unhappy marriage and it lasted only one year.
