Gopichand Malineni is a Telugu film director who started working as an assistant director under many leading directors like E.V.V. Satyanarayana, Srinu Vytla and A. R. Murugadoss before making his directorial debut in 2010 with Don Seenu. The movie starred Ravi Teja and Shriya Saran in lead roles which marked a big box office success. The movie also marked the comeback of actress Shriya after five years. He went on to produce box office hits like Pandaga Chesko, Bodyguard and Balupu, belonging to masala genres. Though his movies receive mixed responses from critics, they have always emerged as box office hits and entertainers.

He is a native of Boddularivaripalem near Ongole from Andhra Pradesh. After schooling from hometown, he completed graduation from VR College, Nellore. He got married to Sri Satya on the Valentine’s Day of 2013. He got attracted towards movies since a child and came to Hyderabad to pursue a career in films. He started off as an assistant director under Srihari for the film ‘Police’, followed by five more films. Later he worked under leading directors like E.V.V. Satyanarayana, Srinu Vytla and A. R. Murugadoss. He worked under Murugadoss for the movies – Stalin and Hindi version of Gajini. He worked under Srinu Vaitla for Venky, Andarivadu and Dhee.

After assisting many directors for many years he made his directorial debut in 2010 with Don Seenu. Though the movie received mixed response from critics it was a box office hit. Initially he planned to make the Telugu remake of Bollywood comedy - Andaz Apna Apna with Venkatesh and Ravi Teja. The director made his second hit film with Ravi Teja through the movie – Balupu. Pandaga Chesko (2015) is his latest release and the movie starred Ram, Rakul Preet Singh and Sonal Chauhan in lead roles.
