Gayatri Patel Biography

Gayatri Patel is a dancer and actress who appears in Bollywood movies. She belongs to a Patel family, born and brought up in US. In 2009 she made her film debut through Bollywood film - Let's Dance, where she was seen in the title role Suhani opposite Ajay Chaudhary. Gayatri later appeared in short film - Waiting Room in 2010, and was also seen in an episode of the TV show, Rishta.com the same year. In 2013 she got married to Dr. Sumeet Bahl and is currently settled in US.

Gayatri Patel Bahl was born in Nashville, Tennessee, USA in the year September 21, 1987. Dr. Arvind Patel & Divya Patel are her parents and she has two sisters. She came to Bangalore at the age of 15 to receive training in Kathak and has learnt from different teachers. She studied Theater and Economics at Emory University in Atlanta, and is also trained in Kathak dance form. She is of Gujarati origin, born and brought up in US. She is an Indian American actress and has participated in several dance competitions. She is a model too, who won the title - Miss India Georgia before her foray to films. She won the title while she was at Emory.

The success of the beauty pageant opened her doors to Bollywood and she made her film debut as lead actress in the year 2009 with the film, Let's Dance, a dance-oriented film. However the movie was a flop. Known for her special looks and flamboyant appearance, she also worked on improving her Indian language skills. She also appeared in short films and a few music videos. She trained under Pandit Birju Maharaj in Delhi for about 10–12 years, and she is known as a dancer, than an actress or model.
