Gayathri Gupta Biography

Gayathri Gupta is a south Indian film actress, associated with Telugu film industry. She is also known as a successful TV presenter. Gupta remained in spotlight and sparked many controversies and debates when she alleged that a Telugu film producer tried to rape her and also asked sexual favors, after accepting their movie. The actress is well known for her debates in television channels on the issue of casting couch issue in Telugu cinema. Known for her progressive and liberal views, her straight forward opinions have received positive feedback from public.

She hails from Nalgonda, Telangana. Jogipet in Sangareddy District is her hometown. She was born into a big family with four younger sisters. She holds an engineering degree, which she completed from her hometown Nalgonda. After completing her engineering degree, she moved to Hyderabad to pursue a career in acting. She started her career at Sakshi TV in 2006. In 2015 she appeared in one short film, Pelli ki Mundu which shot her to instant fame. This short film also bagged her more film offers. She appeared in one more short film, Ramu On The Road released in 2017.

Gayathri Gupta plays supporting roles on Tollywood big screen, and after Pelli ki Mundu,she received many film roles. Mithai, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Fidaa and Jandhyala Rasina Prema Katha are among her recent works which worth mentioning. She was also seen in Telugu films, Dubai Return Hyderabadi, Kobbari Matta (lead role), Ice Cream 2 etc.

She attempted anything and everything creative since her school days, and has been a big fan of Indi pop star Alisha Chinoy. She had immense fondness for writing songs since then. She played female lead in Sampoornesh Babu’s Kobbari Matta. She is also a singer, lyricist, stylist, and directed one music video ‘Ninnu Chusthu Unna’ which she sang, wrote and also enacted.
