Ganapathi S. Poduval Biography 
Ganapathi S. Poduval is a familiar face of Malayalam cinema, best known for his child roles in Vinodayatra (2007), Pranchiyettan & the Saint (2010) and Mallu Singh (2012). As a child artist, he played lead role in Children’s film, Chithrasalabhangalude Veedu in 2008. He has moved to adult roles and Honey Bee 2: Celebrations, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, Chunkzz, Georgettan's Pooram, Puthan Panam, Kavi Uddheshichathu..? and Kammati Paadam are his recent roles. His childhood role as Ganapathi in Vinodhayatra remains the most memorable role of his career.
Ganapathi S. Poduval, best known as Ganapathi hails from Payyanur, Kerala. Not many know that Ganapathi is his real name. His original name was used as his screen name for Vinodayatra and Alibhai. He has one elder brother, Chidambaram. Both these names are not common in Kerala. As Vinodhayatra’s child character is a Tamil boy, the director Sathyan Anthikad used his real name itself, and the idea clicked. Ganapathi was first seen in bilingual, Before the Rains (2007) directed by Santosh Sivan. It was followed by Vinodhayatra. He was studying in 4th standard when he appeared in Before the Rains. He was studying in class 6 when he acted in Vinodhayatra. The iconic scene, ‘Paalum Pazhavum’ became the identity of Ganapathi soon after film’s release.
He also appeared in one TV series, Madhavan as Anoop Menon’s son. He played lead role in short film, Egg which earned him state award for best child actor. Before he became an actor, he has also dubbed for a few Malayalam films. In Ananthabhadram, he dubbed for Prithviraj’s childhood character.
Though Payyannur is his hometown, he was brought up in Thiruvananthapuram. His father works there. His father Satheesh Poduval has worked as an associate with a few film directors of Malayalam. His elder brother Chidambaram has worked as associate cameraman of Rajiv Ravi. Ganapathi has just completed his degree course in politics from Payannur college. Kuboos is his upcoming release.
