Gabriela Bertante Biography

Gabriela Bertante is a Brazilian model who appears in Indian films as a dancer as well as actress. She is an ex-footballer. She played female lead in 2014 Bollywood comedy drama film, Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya directed by Sunil Agnihotri and produced by Sunil Agnihotri Productions. The movie marked the screen debut of singer Mika Singh. As a film actress and dancer she has appeared in a few south Indian films. She is best known as an item dancer for 2012 Ajith Kumar movie, Billa II, where she made a special appearance in item number "Yedho Mayakkam". It’s her first screen appearance in Indian big screen. She is the sister of Glelberson Luís Leopoldino Bertante, a Brazilian football striker.

 

Gabriela Bertante was born in Matias Barbosa, Minas Gerais, Brazil. As a teenager at the age of 17, she used to help her parents at their store in her hometown. Then she moved to Sao Paulo to begin a career in modelling. She has been a sportswoman too, interested in football during her teens. She played in regional soccer leagues before she turned serious with modelling career. Her brother Glelberson Luís Leopoldino Bertante too played football for some clubs in Brazil.

 

In 2010 she moved to India, and worked in fashion industry for a while, before she started accepting item songs for Indian movies. Initially she did item songs for south Indian language movies. Billa II in 2012 was her first movie. Same year she also made a special appearance for Telugu movies, Devudu Chesina Manushulu and Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu. She has also hosted a show, MTV Grind for MTV India. As a model she had a successful career in India. She was featured in several magazines and also featured as a ramp model for Lakme Fashion Week.
