Florent Pereira Biography

Florent Pereira is a Tamil film actor known for essaying supporting roles. After playing a brief role in 2003 movie Puthiya Geetai, he re-entered Tamil cinema in the year 2014. Since then he has been fully active in the industry and essayed a dozen of character roles. Podhuvaga Emmanasu Thangam, Taramani, Idam Porul Yaeval, Nagesh Thiraiyarangam and Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 are among his recent releases. Other noted releases include – Kayal, Thodari, Raja Manthiri, Dharma Durai etc. He owns more than 25 years career in television industry in management roles, and in 2011 was awarded a lifetime achievements award from Lions Clubs International for his services to television.

His full name is Florent Charles Pereira, and his name is also pronounced as Florent C. Pereira. He completed his graduation in English Literature from Annamalai University in 1976. He started his career in television channels, doing management roles in the 1990s and has worked with Vijay TV and Win TV till 2000s. Though he is an actor of Tamil movies at present, he is also associated with television. He serves as the General Manager of Kalaignar TV right now.

In 2014 he entered film scene through the breakthrough role of a zamindar in Prabhu Solomon's Kayal. Solomon spotted him in a TV show of Kalaignar TV and offered him his meaty role which Pereira accepted. He enquired about his interest in acting, and thus Pereira became a part of Tamil film industry. He got his next role in the year 2016 for the movie, Thodari. This role too was offered to him by Prabhu Solomon. His character role got noticed and he got more roles from Tamil cinema.
