Feryna Wazheir Biography

Feryna Wazheir is a very successful British model who appears in Bollywood movies. She also endorses many Indian products and is the brand ambassador of Kolkata’s P.C. Chandra Jewellers. Most recently she played a pivot role in Ketan Mehta’s controversial movie – Rang Rasiya which received huge appreciation from critics and many international film festivals. She played female lead in Raj Kanwar’s Sadiyaan, where she was paired with Shatrugan Sinha’s son Luv Sinha.

She was born to Kashmiri parents in Britain. She has been associated with amateur theatre since her younger days and has also been a voice-over artist. Later she received offers for commercials and short films. She has been a part of the famous play ‘The Vagina Monologues’ at the age of 17. She completed her studies in film communication and cultural studies and she reached India as a part of her vacation holidays. She was spotted by photographer Farookh Chotia and she became a part of many high profile photo shoots very soon. She was regularly featured in many Indian commercials. Yet she kept her association with theatre intact. She trained and performed under doyens of Indian theatre - Satyadev Dubey and Alque Padamsee. She also appeared in many music videos of A.R. Rahman and Hariharan.

‘Sadiyaan’ in 2010 marked her Bollywood debut though the movie was a flop. Yet she managed to win a Filmfare nomination for best debutant actress. Ketan Mehta's ‘Rang Rasiya’ though completed earlier in 2008 was released only in 2014. But the movie was showed in many international film festivals. She played the role of a Parsi girl in the film.
