Dileesh Nair Biography

Dileesh Nair is a young scriptwriter and director associated with Malayalam cinema. 2D Animator moved to big screen by co-scripting Salt N’ Pepper (2012) aside another newcomer, Syam Pushkaran to give one of the biggest hits of the year. When 26-year old Shyam and 30-year old Dileep scripted the movie, they didn’t even imagine the movie to become a big hit. The movie also marked their successful association with director Aashiq Babu, who rose to front lead with this movie. The duo together scripted the film - Idukki Gold too, directed by Aashiq babu. In 2014, he made his directorial debut through Prithviraj starrer - Tamaar Padaar, a comedy flick. However the movie was a box office failure. He has also done a few cameo roles on big screen.

Dileesh is a native of Thodupuzha, born in the year 1981. He was working as a 2D animator for clients in Australia and the Middle East, when he moved to movies. He made his successful debut as a screenwriter for the movie, Salt N’ Pepper in 2012 and later made his directorial debut as well. The co-script writer Syam Pushkaran is his friend. The appetite for ‘good cinema' prompted two youngsters two write a film that celebrates food. That’s how Salt N' Pepper was born in 2011. After the flop of Daddy Cool in 2009, the movie also marked the successful beginning of youngster director, Aashiq Abu. Since then the duo has worked in many movies with the same director and most of them turned to be successful ventures too.

In 2012, he made a cameo appearance in Aashiq babu’s hit film - 22 Female Kottayam, followed by Da Thadiya and Idiots. He along with Syam Pushkaran and Abhilash S Kumar scripted the movie, Da Thadiya in 2012 directed by Aashiq babu. The movie marked the screen debut of Sekhar Menon, a successful DJ. Sekhar has earlier composed one song for Salt N' Pepper.
