Diah Nicholas Biography

Diah Nicolas is a south Indian film actress, who works in Tollywood films. Nicolas is best known for known for Yamaleela 2, a Telugu fantasy drama released in 2014. She played the lead role of Anandi in her debut flick. She was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. But she is of Indian origin. Her great-grandfather had migrated to South Africa from India. However, her Indian connection is quite minimal. She was in her late teens when she moved to India with her sister for a holiday and her acting career took off. She marked her film debut at the age of 20 years.

Diah Nicolas was born and brought up in South Africa, but she has Indian roots. She was born in year 1990. Decades ago, her great-grandfather had migrated to South Africa from India, where he settled with his family. Diah owns an Indian face and when people tell her the same, she takes it as a compliment. She grew up in a household which has a British, Greek, Indonesian and Indian lineage. Her mother is from the UK, and her father was born and brought up in South Africa.

When her elder sister got hitched she came to India with her to enjoy holidays. She was studying law then, and took a break of one year to act in a film. She never had any experience in modelling industry too. She bagged her first film role through Telugu fantasy drama Yamaleela 2 in 2014. Though she was nervous in facing camera initially, she managed it well and her co-actors supported her too. She shared screen space with Dr. K. V. Satish (who produced the film too), Mohan Babu and Brahmanandam in this movie which fared average at box office. The film was directed by S. V. Krishna Reddy.
