Dhansika Biography 
Dhansika is an upcoming film actress associated with Tamil cinema, best known for the supporting role of Maragadham in 2013 movie, Paradesi. The role earned her the first Filmfare award for best actress in a supporting role, apart from Vijay Award for Best Supporting Actress. With a bunch of films coming up, she is to work with megastar Rajinikanth for Pa. Ranjith’s Kabali, essaying the superstar’s daughter’s role. One among the tallest actors of Kollywood, some of her Tamil works include – Peranmai, Nil Gavani Sellathey, Ya Ya, Thiranthidu Seese, Maanja Velu and Aravaan, for which she earned Edison Award for Most Daring Role.
She was born on 20th November 1989 in Thanjavur. She appeared in a couple of uncredited roles in the year 2006 – Thirudi and Manathodu Mazhaikalam. Peranmai in 2009 marked her film debut. She happened to attend the auditions held at Chennai, where she was spotted by the director. She has been an athlete during school days and her height also helped her to grab the role for the movie – Peranmai. She shared screen space with youngsters - Jayam Ravi, Vasundhara Kashyap and Saranya, apart from veterans like Ponvannan, Vadivelu and Urvashi. For her second movie - Maanja Velu, she played female lead and the movie was a box office hit. But Nil Gavani Sellathey, where she played the female lead released the same year was a box office failure.
She was paired with Aadhi for her next film – Aravaan. Though the movie received mixed response from critics, it was a box office hit and she received earned Edison Award for Most Daring Role in 2012. She shot to fame with the movie Paradesi and since then there is no turning back. One of the most promising Tamil actresses at present, her upcoming movies includes Rajinikanth starrer Kabali, apart from Kitna, Kaathadi, Vizhithiru and Kaala Koothu.
