Dhananjay Biography

Dhananjay is a popular actor of Kannada movies at present. He made an impressive debut in the year 2013 with the movie - Director's Special, which fetched him the debut actor award at the SIIMA Awards. Passion to art prompted him to reject a good offer from India’s leading IT company, Infosys and he chose theatre field instead.

Dhananjay was born in Kalenhalli village in Arasikere of Hassan district, Karnataka. Since childhood days he was attracted to the world of movies and drama and used to watch them at his village, with his father. Later he completed Engineering from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysore with a good rank. Very soon he got a good job offer from Infosys IT Company in Mysore. But he didn’t accept the job, as he was interested in the field of art and cinema. He used to frequently visit the popular Rangayana theater group in Mysore during his college days and very soon started his acting career with the same theatre group. He even attended a theatre workshop in Germany, where his training was facilitated by German-based theatre director Christian Stuckl.

A regular visitor at Rangayana Theater in Mysore, his acting skill was noticed by director Guruprasad who offered him the movie - Director's Special. He appeared aside Rangayana Raghu for the movie and proved his mettle. Acting skills of both the actors were praised. Later he appeared in a short film - Jayanagar 4th Block and it was based on his own story on relationships. Rhaatee was his single release in 2015. His upcoming movies are Allama, Rhaatee, Boxer, Badmaash and Jessie.
