Devi Ajith Biography

Devi Ajith is a popular actress of Malayalam small screen who also plays supporting roles for movies. She was most recently seen playing the character role of Rizwan's mother (who slaps her son in the police station) in Nivin Pauley starrer Action Hero Biju. Now she is quite active on big screen and was most recently seen in the movies, Mili, Nirnayakam, Hallelooya, Kanala, Mariyam Mukku, Bhaskar the Rascal and Adi Kapyare Kootamani. Her supporting role in Trivandrum Lodge and Immanuel gave her the big break to silver screen. Devi is quite famous as a classical dancer and TV anchor and she has also acted in a short film - Virgin Road.

Devi is a native of Thiruvananthapuram. Both her parents are educationists. She completed her schooling from Nirmala Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram, followed by pre-degree course from Women’s College, Vazhuthacaud. Though she initially thought of doing Engineering, later she completed LLB course. Acting happened by chance. Devi was spotted by filmmaker Shyama Prasad while she was hosting for a TV show. Thus his serial Manal Nagaram marked her acting debut. It was followed by Nakshatrangal Ariyathe, a tele-serial, by Shajiyem and Sthree Parvam Navam, a tele-film by Adam Ayub. Very soon she became a busy star of small screen.

Seetha Kalyanam was her first movie, though it was delayed. Then she worked in Ivar – the first movie to be shot using a handy cam. In between she did a few character roles on small and big screen. Following her marriage she took a break from the industry and made a comeback after long 7 years through the film, Trivandrum Lodge in 2012. Zachariyude Garbanikal, Kaanchi, Emmanuel etc are a few noted appearances after that. She made her Tamil debut through Sooraiyaadal, a short film directed by Thammarai Kannan.
