Devadas (actor) Biography

Devadas is a very popular actor from Malayalam films, who shot to fame playing child actor role in movies in Athisayan and Anandhabhairavi. He played lead actor role in both movies and both these roles were well appreciated. After playing two memorable roles during his early phase in movie career, he is to mark his adult debut with upcoming flick, Kalikootukar. The shooting ceremony has begun, and the movie is expected to get released in 2019. The movie is produced by Padikkal Basi, and released under the banner Devamrutham Cinema. Master Devadas of Athisayan has graduated to Devadas, and he plays the lead hero in this movie which tells the story of true friends.

Devadas was earlier credited as Master Devadas in Malayalam movies, as he played child actor roles on screen. He is the son of Ramu, a veteran actor in the Malayalam cinema industry best known for character roles. Devadas debut as a child artist in Anandabhairavi in 2007, where he played a child prodigy singer who dies young and captured the hearts of Malayalis with his innocent smile, round face, expressive eyes and acting. He shared screen space with veteran actor Sai Kumar in the movie, and bagged Atlas Films Critic Award 2007 in the Best Child Artist category.

Devadas also acted in Athisayan the same year, starring alongside Bollywood star Jackie Shroff, who marked his Malayalam debut, and Kavya Madhavan. In this film too Devadas played the role of a child prodigy. He acted in the 2008 film Njaan alongside Jishnu, Karthika and Thilakan, before he took a break from acting. Now he returns to big screen playing lead role in Kalikootukar. From a fat boy with chubby face, Devadas has changed a lot, and now his appearance fits best for a lead actor with good physique. Currently he is a film student in Mumbai.
